Sepak Takraw Events: State and Region Competition commenced in Nay Pyi Taw

The opening ceremony of 2023 State and Region Sepak Takraw Competition was held at the Wunna Theikdi Stadium (C) in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday morning with the attendance by the members of the State Administration Council Daw Dwe Bu, Porel Aung Thein, Dr. Hmu Thang, Dr. Ba Shwe, U Shwe Kyein and U Yan Kyaw, Union Ministers, Deputy Ministers, departmental officials, Chairman of Myanmar Sepak Takraw Federation, other concerned officials and sport enthusiasts.

At the ceremony, the Chairman of Myanmar Olympic Committee and Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan said that the athletes have to compete with full sportsmanship, demonstrating their abilities for the victory of representing State and Region teams. He encouraged all athletes to strive for the best to become outstanding players who can reinforce the National Selection Team, bringing prestige for the country.

After reciting the oaths of sports by athletes, members of the State Administration Council, Union Minister and other concerned officials enjoyed the competition between Nay Pyi Taw Council and the Taninthayi Region teams and also Magway and Mandalay Region teams (Men/Women).

2023 State and Region Sepak Takraw competition, joined by a total of 262 athletes from 26 Men/Women teams, is set to be held from 22nd to 24th November and sport enthusiasts are invited to enjoy the competitions free of charge.
