Workshop in Yangon : Comprehensive development of Rattan and Bamboo sector

A workshop on the comprehensive development of Myanmar Rattan and Bamboo sector was held in Hmawbi Township on Friday morning, with the attendance of the Deputy Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Min Thu.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Minister clarified the purposes of the workshop such as knowledge exchanging within rattan and bamboo entrepreneurs, matters on ensuring the sufficiency of raw materials, increasing investment, development of technology and manufacturing equipment and production of value-added rattan and bamboo products as well as international and local market creations.

He also called for the suggestions of the attendees in land acquisition, inviting investments and getting required technological assistance in acceleration of the rattan and bamboo plantations.
